Libby Gardner Hall, University of Utah

Libby Gardner Hall, University of Utah
Acoustics, Sound and Video System

Project Description

The renovation of the existing Gardner Hall at the University of Utah and the addition of a new concert hall brought the music department up to current technology and industry standards while providing a competitive and comprehensive platform for administration, faculty and students. Gardner Hall houses faculty studio/offices, classrooms, a library, and student facilities. Room 200, the largest single space in Gardner Hall, has been renovated to its original grandeur. The new concert hall contains the performance auditorium, performance education and rehearsal spaces. The hall was designed for live performances from soloists to full symphony orchestras. Ideal acoustical properties and a pronounced sense of intimacy between performer and audience were key design factors.
